Why Sting Won't Give His Children His $300 Million Fortune

Sting is worth over $300 million.  But, he tells the Daily Mail that he children should not expect to see a large inheritance.

Sting explains:

"I told them there won’t be much money left because we are spending it! We have a lot of commitments. What comes in we spend, and there isn’t much left...I certainly don’t want to leave them trust funds that are albatrosses round their necks. They have to work. All my kids know that and they rarely ask me for anything, which I really respect and appreciate. Obviously, if they were in trouble I would help them, but I’ve never really had to do that."

Sting adds that he's proud of the work ethic his children have shown.  The Police singer/songwriter has six children.  The youngest is 18 and the eldest is 37.

He also talks about paying his dues and Sting believes that has had a positive impact on his success. "If it had all been handed to me on a plate, I'm not sure I would appreciate it or have survived."
